For both Warder (Male) and Matron (Female) posts, candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized education board with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects, or an equivalent qualification in Punjabi language as prescribed by the Punjab Government, and only women are eligible to be recruited as Matron.

The minimum age limit for PSSSB Warder and Matron Recruitment 2026 is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 27 years as on the prescribed cut-off date, with relaxation in the upper age limit applicable to reserved categories as per Punjab Government rules.

The selection process consists of a written examination with objective-type multiple-choice questions, in which Part-A (Punjabi language) is qualifying with a minimum of 50 percent marks and Part-B is the main paper on whose marks the merit list is prepared, followed by Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test for shortlisted candidates, and finally document verification and medical examination before appointment.
